The ScanSnap S510M is a great Document scanner designed for the Mac. Its Auto Document Feeder (ADF) is extremely reliable and can scan 18 double sided pages per minute. The software is simple to use and the one-click scan button makes the scanner super easy to use. If you are looking for the Windows version, go here

Easy to Use
I know it is hard to get excited about a document scanner, but the ScanSnap makes scanning receipts, bills, bank statements, and even business cards a pleasure. The included Optical Character Recognition (OCR) works well and will leave any text it can’t figure out as images rather than crazy greek symbols.

Reliable Auto Feeder
The auto feeder can hold up to 50 pages at a time allowing the ScanSnap to churn through your documents at a brisk 18 double sided pages per minute (color or black & white). After scanning hundreds of pages the scanner only jammed a couple of times (due mostly to the paper’s condition) and resuming from a jam is super easy since the scanner opens up with the press of a single button and the software patiently waits for you to clear the jam before resuming.

Bundled Software
The scanner comes bundled with Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Professional, ScanSnap Manager v2.1, and ABBYY FindReader 3.0. Although in most cases all you need is Apple’s built in Preview.app since the scanner’s main purpose is to create a PDF file from the scanned material.

Final Verdict
The ScanSnap S510M is an excellent document scanner and well worth its slightly high price tag.
