Do you hate Leopard’s new 3D Dock? If so, you can quickly remove the 3D effect via the command line. Personally I’m slowly getting used to the new Dock but it is a definite example of unnecessary ‘Eye Candy’, so I can understand why some people want to disable the 3D Dock. Also, feel free to suggest other Leopard dock mods in the comments section.
This tip will require the use of the terminal but don’t worry we won’t be doing anything too complicated. Simply, open up /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app and enter the following command at the prompt.
You’ll need to kill and restart the dock using the following command,
Simply replace the YES with NO to and repeat the command to undo the change.
