Ars Technica has a well written piece by Glenn Fleishman about Erik Tews’ (pictured) work on cracking WPA. Up until now WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) has been the only alternative to the severely flawed Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP). Note: it now takes only seconds to break into a WEP secured wireless network. Fortunately, there is an easy solution that will prevent WPA from becoming as insecure as WEP…

According to Ars it is only Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP) that is vulnerable. Lifehacker’s Adam Pash explains that by logging onto your router and switching to the Advanced Encryption System (AES) encryption you will be safe (for now).
